What is MEMEX ?
MEMEX – Middle East Manufacturing Exhibition is now regarded as the most important manufacturing sector trade show in the region. MEMEX offers a dedicated platform for decision makers to source the latest manufacturing technology, machinery, products and solutions.
MEMEX covers a wide range of industries from Metal Working to Wood Working and predominantly attracts visitors from the GCC Countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain & Oman) and the wider Middle East region. The 2012 edition of MEMEX will be held from 19 – 21 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
MEMEX 2012 will feature a larger participation from exhibitors and visitors to cement its place as the premier platform for the manufacturing sector in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi’s Industrial Landscape
Economic Vision 2030, Abu Dhabi’s long-term development plan, foresees a quadrupling of GDP – from $100bn in 2008 to $400bn by the end of the plan’s term. It is hoped that industry will account for $100 billion by 2030 or 25% of the total GDP.
The increased investment is already having an effect, as the GDP rose by 15.9% to $168bn in 2010. One of the strong performers obviously is the manufacturing sector, which posted a growth of 10.8% in 2010.
